Ketchikan, Alaska Fishing Charters
We invite you to visit our community which has long been a favorite destination for travelers visiting the Inside Passage of Alaska.

Majestic Misty Fjords
National Monument

Misty Fjords National Monument

Visit one of the Nations
greatest treasures and one
of Alaska's scenic jewels!

Here you will see some of the most breathtaking scenery on earth. The magnificent Misty Fjords Monument is a pristine wilderness consisting of 2.3 million acres, completely roadless, accessed only by floatplane or boat from Ketchikan.

Wildlife abounds in this area. Sighting of humpbacks, whales, sea lions, seals and playful sea otter and porpoise may be enjoyed on your trip.

Outstanding Fishing Experiences

Huge runs of salmon migrate from the open ocean and into the protected waters of the Inside Passage near Ketchikan---this is the reason we have long been known as the "Salmon Capital of the World". Local charter operators will guide you to the hot spots for a half day or full day.

We will be happy to help you
set up your fishing charter.

Whales
Waterfront
Watch float planes depart and land on our busy waterfront harbor and huge cruise ships dropping anchor or passing in the night with lights glowing and fishing boats unloading their catch at local seafood canneries.

Be entertained by sailboats, kayakers, charter boats and an occasional whale pod going by! Witness majestic eagles soaring over Ketchikan's waterfront in spring and early summer, taking frequent rests in neighboring old growth trees. You may even see an occasional whale pod going by!

T
ake a stroll on the boardwalks along the infamous Creek Street, once a colorful lively part of Ketchikan's past where ladies of the Night, fishermen, loggers and yes, out prominent forefathers would gather to be entertained and inbibe in a little of the girl's bootleg whiskey. Here they would party the night away..... Now you will find these same houses of ill-repute from an era of days gone by have been converted to charming shops all along the creek.
Black Bears
Two Bald Eagles

Wildlife
Bald Eagles are everywhere! These majestic birds are easy to spot, perched in shoreline trees.

Black bears, Sitka black-tailed deer and Mountain goat are common throughout the area.

Sea Kayaking

Kayaking
Padding along the shoreline, kayakers can experience Alaska's serenity, while taking in the wildlife from a different up front and personal" perspective". Bald eagles, blue herons, kingfishers, porpoises, humpbacks, orcas, and seals are frequently spotted. Occasionally a sea lion will surface.

Totem Poles
Alaska Natives
Saxman Native Village Totem House

  Totems
Ketchikan's rich Native cultural presence offers opportunities to attend an authentic dance performance, view traditional clan houses, gaze at their massive totem poles---the largest collection of historical totem poles in the world, and while in their village, watch the carvers in action as they carve a huge totem pole.
